Anthony Vincent La Manna ("Tony"), 88, of Bryn Mawr, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 surrounded by his children. He was born on November 17, 1936 in Passaic, NJ, to Dominick and Elizabeth La Manna and was the oldest of three children.
After graduating Garfield High School, he served in the United States Naval Reserve from July 28, 1954 until July 27, 1962. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where he received his BS and later his MBA. After a few jobs that he felt were not the right fit, he had a call with the Business Department head at Ramapo College of New Jersey, a start up college in the New Jersey state system. Anthony taught at Ramapo College for 43 years, served as Unit Director and achieved the rank of Full Professor. He was awarded the honorary title of Professor Emeritus upon his retirement in 2015.
During his stay at Ramapo College, he attended Seton Hall School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor. He had a private practice in addition to working as an arbitrator and mediator with the American Arbitration Association and an arbitrator with FINRA.
Favorite pastimes included watching the Yankees, Phillies, Giants and Eagles, playing poker at the casino, listening to Sarah Brightman songs, working out, taking sun baths and spending time with his family.
Anthony is predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy M. La Manna, and will be greatly missed by his children, Sandra Fuller (Bernard), Susan Tanis (Craig), Eric Nelson, Margo Royle (Sean) and Matthew LaManna (Kristen Rovan) and siblings, Rose "Chic" Basset and Joseph La Manna (Carol). He was a devoted grandfather to Matthew, Melanie, Katy, Justin, Brett, Blake, Kaylee, Ella, Madeline and Audrey.
Anthony never met someone he didn't consider a friend. He loved telling stories and jokes, making people laugh and good-natured banter with his closest friends. He particularly loved to talk about his trip to Alaska with his friend George in the 1960s, exploring what was considered the "last frontier" at the time.
A ceremony will be held at Calvary Cemetery (235 E Matsonford Rd, Conshohocken, PA 19428) on Thursday, October 9th at 11am.
