Art grew up in Upper Dublin, graduating from Upper Dublin High School in Ft. Washington, PA. He went on to Muhlenberg College, where he earned a degree in Liberal Arts. Along the way, he built friendships that lasted a lifetime—friendships that carried him through reunions, countless gatherings, and the joy of fraternity life with the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha.
In 1963, Art proudly answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Naval Air Reserve, where he served until 1970.
After his service, Art established a successful career in sales, working in the health care and research fields. He loved connecting with people, and that gift of conversation and connection followed him throughout his life. Even after retirement, he couldn’t quite stay away from people, so he worked part-time with the T-E School District. Whether fixing something, lending a hand, guiding students across the street, or just sharing a laugh, he quickly became a friend to staff and students alike.
Golf was Art’s great passion. He was a longtime member of Sandy Run Country Club in Oreland, PA, and spent countless days playing at public courses with his “Senior Citizen Group.” Some of his fondest memories came from playing on courses around the country, sharing the game he loved with family and friends.
But golf wasn’t his only pastime. Art had a love for history, often diving into historical novels. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, and he never passed up a good Western. John Wayne, of course, was always his number one.
Art was also a die-hard Eagles and Phillies fan. He was lucky enough to see the Eagles win two Super Bowls and the NFL Championship in 1960 along with two Phillies World Series victories. Few things made him prouder than cheering on his teams.
When it came to holidays, Art’s joy was contagious. He loved any reason to celebrate, but Christmas was always his favorite. He made his famous eggnog, played carols throughout the house, and never missed watching The Homecoming: A Walton’s Christmas. Every corner of the house—inside and out—was decorated with care, making Christmas magical for everyone around him.
But more than anything else, Art’s greatest joy and blessing in life was his family. His happiest moments were the ones spent with the people he loved most, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever.
Art was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Marie Brown, and his brothers Otto and Richie Fad.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Karen Kinderman Fad; his children Paul Fad (wife Terri), Michael Fad (wife Thu), A.G. Fad (wife Erin), Alex Fad, and daughter Winni Fad; and his five grandchildren, Connor Fad, Ryan Fad, Elizabeth Darrah, Alice Fad, and Gwynevere Fad.
He is also survived by his brothers Bob Fad and Bruce Fad (wife Susan); his sisters Karen Maskas (husband Jim) and Kathy Tucholski; his sister-in-law, Cathy Fad (wife of Richie); and his brother-in-law, Paul Brown (husband of Anna Marie). He will also be remembered with love by his many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am at Paoli United Methodist Church, 81 Devon Road, Paoli, PA 19301. A luncheon will follow the service.
