On Thursday evening March 26, 2020 Boyd Elton Ward Jr passed suddenly while resting in his home. He’s survived by his loving wife of almost 34 years Laura Ward, his son Eric Ward and his wife Jodi, his daughter Amy Ward her partner Rick Morse, grandson Diedrick Morse, his sister Anne Clouser along with her husband Arthur Clouser and many nieces and nephews. He is the son of the since passed Mary Belle Winbrow and Boyd Elton Ward Sr and stepson to Gerald Winbrow.
Boyd was born on September 24, 1951 in Salisbury Maryland. He attended Wicomico High School where he graduated in 1969. He served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975. He finished his college degree at Villanova through Thomas Edison. He was a sociology/history major with a minor in computer science that would serve him well as his career carried him to many financial institutions ending with 20 years at Vanguard where he retired in 2017.
Boyd had many interests that would keep him busy. His love of family and friends was clear to all around him. When you met Boyd it was impossible to have a conversation with him where he wouldn’t mention someone he loved. He enjoyed home projects, working in the yard, attending gatherings with his friends, attending Eagles games with his son and watching the Eagles away games at his home with his family was always a party. He would play tennis as often as possible. It was hard to find a time when Boyd wasn’t smiling especially when he was surrounded by the ones he loved.
In light of current conditions there will be no public viewing. The family asks for prayers and support as they grieve and for all to hold their own loved ones close.
