Charles Edward Scott Jr.

Charles E. Scott, Jr., affectionately known as Terry, passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2026 at his home in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, after a prolonged illness. He was 86 years old. In his final days, he was surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

Born on February 2, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Terry lived a life defined by faith, service, kindness, and devotion to his family and community.

Terry graduated from St. Vincent College before serving his country in the United States Army, where he worked in Military Intelligence. Following his military service, he began a distinguished career with the U.S. Department of Labor, where he served for many years with integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to public service.

A lifelong and devout Catholic, Terry's faith guided every aspect of his life. He was an active member of the Church and generously gave his time to numerous ministries. He was especially proud of his involvement with the Knights of Columbus and found great joy in serving his parish and helping others.

Those who knew Terry will remember him as a kind, gentle, and humble man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering compassion touched the lives of countless family members, friends, neighbors, and fellow parishioners. He found his greatest happiness in spending time with those he loved and in living a life of faithful service.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen; his sons, Doug Scott (Barbara) and Paul Scott (Ronette); his stepchildren, Michael Vadner (Karen) and Laura Sclafani (Joe); his sisters, Janice Long (Tom) and Mary Agnes Mooney; and his nine cherished grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. He also leaves behind many beloved extended family members and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Chesterbrook on Friday, August 14th, 2026, at 10 a.m.

Terry's legacy is one of faith, humility, service, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in the peace of Christ, whom he served so faithfully throughout his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be graciously accepted at the Chester County Food Bank or The Providence Animal Center in Media.
