Christian Matcovich was born on November 22, 1994 to his parents, Robert and Mary Matcovich. He was to graduate from HMS School in June 2016 where he served as President of the Student Government. Christian’s indomitable spirit was an example for all who knew him, and a friend to all who met him. Despite physical limitations caused by Cerebral Palsy (CP), Christian pursued accomplishments few able bodied men attained. In 2010, Christian’s art was displayed in Philadelphia’s City Hall where he was afforded the opportunity to discuss the Phillies with Mayor Nutter. In 2014, he successfully passed his Eagle Board of Review, and attained Scouting’s highest rank, “Eagle Scout.” This accomplishment so clearly demonstrated his tenacious ambition that Christian’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor was covered by local newspapers, and TV stations. Christian is survived by his mother, father, brothers, Joseph and Matthew, his nurse of sixteen years, Liliana Couchara, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Relatives and friends may call on Friday January 8, 2016 from 6-8pm at Alleva Funeral Home: 1724 East Lancaster Ave. Paoli, PA. and again on Sat 9-10AM at St. Isaac Jogues Church: 50 West Walker Rd. Wayne, PA. Christian’s life will be celebrated at 10AM, during a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Christian’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to HMS School, 4400 Baltimore Ave, Philadelphia, PA or Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child http://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child would be appreciated
