There have been so many times, in the past year when I wanted to share a moment with Pat, my best friend, only to remember she is no longer with us on earth.  I miss Pat so much, she will always be in my thoughts and prayers.  

My mom was interned today, July 14, 2022 next to my dad at Valley Forge Memorial.  I wanted to share my thoughts on the day, which was also the anniversary of our dear, dear Becky's death.  I wanted to thank my mom for giving us this beautiful family.  I thank her for accepting our decisions and allowing us to fail, learn and grow.  Thank you for teaching us to be flexible and accepting of others. Thanked her for loving education and having curiosity of the world.  I also thanked her for loving the handsome, loving man lying next to her now.  She taught us toe pick loving and supportive men!!  We miss her and love her and I also thanked her for my thick head of hair!!

I’m very sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. I didn’t get to spend much time with Aunt Pat because we lived so far away but I never heard a negative word spoken about her. I know everyone really loved her and I always heard such nice things said about her. I was lucky to spend a few hours listening to her tell some old family stories at the cousins reunion a few years ago. I’ll never forget all the stories her and Uncle Art told us that night about their younger days! She will be missed and her family will be in my prayers. 

Dorothy Patricia Radcliffe was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and to me a beautiful friend who will be forever missed. She was the historian for the Radcliffe family, whenever there was a question to be answered, she was the person we went to for the right answer. She was a beautiful person and teacher who was there for me when I needed help.  She also taught me “that you never forget what is worth remembering and never remember what's best forgotten”. 

A truly beautiful person who brought sunshine into the lives of so many people wherever she lived, and that was many places.

You will be in my memory forever,

When Bill and Pat moved to California in the 1970s, my husband, Tom, Pat, Bill, and I became friends and would go places together. Pat and Bill were witnesses at our wedding in 1978. For years, we had season tickets to theaters, we dined out often, we went to California attractions and to Mexico. It was in Mexico we went to see my only dog race, it was in Mazatlán Mexico, Bill, Tom, and I went parasailing while Pat watched our possessions and cheered us on, happy to stay firmly on the ground. 
When it came to amusement parks, Pat was the one who watched over our coats, camera, and other possessions while the three of us gleefully went on a roller-coaster but when it came to dance Pat did not sit on the bench. Bill and Pat enjoyed dancing and did not miss an opportunity to cut the rug.
Trivia was Pat and Tom’s forte with Pat edging out Tom, ever so slightly; if we could not remember a name or a fact we automatically went to Pat, and she rarely failed to provide. After Pat and Bill moved to PA, we continued to stay connected, we visited them in PA on a regular basis and did not miss an opportunity to see Pat when she visited CA. In the last few years, we would talk on the phone. I have such wonderful memories of the four of us together having fun, enjoying each other’s company;  I will miss Pat.
