I'm so sorry for your loss. I first got to know Dan in our younger years through his Dad and his brother Jack whom I attended High school with in the 60's before moving away from NJ as an adult. It wasn't until a few years ago we reconnected through a mutual friend when we both joined a Bible Study group. It was as though no time had passed between us. Dan as always was a kind, caring man and as we both found out about each other, had deeply religious lives. Dan's faith and Love for Christ showed in the love he had for you and all your family, as well as friends and those in need. He will be very much missed my many but I know his legacy will live in the hearts of all those he touched in his lifetime throughout their remaining lives. He definitely left a lasting footprint on everyone's heart. I will miss our faith conversations but feel blessed that God brought our paths back together in time to enjoy what he had done in each our lives. May God bless you and your family until we all meet again at the feet of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I only met Dan in recent years. But it took only one meeting to see his warmth and sincerity shine through - plus his great sense of fun! He will be sorely missed by many. What a great couple, Dan and Joanne.

Another wonderful memory and where I got to know them both a lot better… MLSOR’ trip to Ireland…  Dan got crowned in an old castle… hours from Dublin with Joanne by his side. Fun time!

Joanne and Dan- so many fond memories… music, travel, beach, boating and many more wonderful times together! This was a special day for sure… a trip along the Hudson.

Dan and his family were intertwined with ours for so many years starting with St Monica Parish and School, St Joseph’s Prep and the Jersey Shore.  He handled home sales and buys for us and even helped our son, Richard, and his wife, Steph, purchase their first home.  He was so much a part of Prep lacrosse with our son John.  
God bless and keep you all and accept our gratitude for knowing him and being a small part of his well lived life.

My name is Dick Cooper and my wife Chris and I were friends of Dan and JoAnne when we lived in Berwyn and then Malvern from 1990 to 2000 when we moved “Down the Shore” to Heaven - Avalon, N.J.  In 2003 we moved to North Carolina and in 2014 to our home town, New Orleans, where we now live. We saw Dan and JoAnne often at St. Monica Church, where my children Kelly, Richard,  and John went to grade school.  We always enjoyed socializing with them and their family, and we often saw them on the kids’ sports circuit.  Later when my son John played lacrosse at the Prep, I helped Dan line the field at Fairmount Park before the games.  Dan didn’t have to do this, but he was always giving back to the lacrosse community in Philly!  He got us hooked on pro lax (“Go Wings!”) and our seats were close to his.  We so enjoyed those outings and Dan was wild for the Wings.  I remember asking Dan during the first game I saw if it was allowable for a player to lie on another player to keep him from getting up (the answer was “no!”).  We loved Dan and JoAnne and were sorry to lose touch with them after we moved away from the area.   

I am very sad to hear of his passing today.  My heart goes out to JoAnne and the family - I am sure they can find comfort in the FACT that he must be in heaven with Jesus now!  Such a devout, wonderful and loving man was he.  I wish I could be there during this time of trial for you, JoAnne and your family!

A consummate Rotarian , Dan lived by the motto  Service Above Self.  He was a friend to all. Dan and Joanne opened their home to foreign exchange students, and visiting rock bands. Dan greeted everyone with his characteristic warmth and smiles. Dan lived his faith, served his faith community , and all humanity. 
Dan now lives with his fellow angels.
God bless Dan's  adored wife Joanne, and Dan's beloved children and siblings.

I only got to know Dan after he came to Berkshire Hathaway.   He lit up a room with that beautiful hair and incredible smile.   He got cheated out of moving to Austin, which he was excited about, to be near family.   Dan was family first and my favorite memories was when he brought Ramona to the office.   This family has lost a wonderful man, God bless.

So sorry to hear of Danny’s passing. Although I haven’t seen him since St. Paul’s Elementary School in Stone Harbor,  I remember him and his lovely family very well….Condolences to his family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Dan's passing . He was one of the most caring and generous people I know. He will surely be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to Joann and children and grandchildren. I know that Dan had such an integral part in all of your lives.

Dear JoAnne, Katie, Danny, Timmy and Wayne,
Dan was simply one of the best human beings on the planet.  I worked for a bit with him, he taught me a lot, in Real Estate.  More importantly I got to feed his family more than once.  Always a smile and always had time to give you.  Joanne your faith will get you thru this time along with the kids.  He will be deeply missed by many and was always loved by all. My wonderful cousin, Dan. You were always a hero to me. One of the many great times we had is pictures as we both were blessed with talented children. Music was the answer.  I always reveled in the 3 “Danny” McMonigle thing. I was always proud to know we shared that. 
Our grandfather, who we were named after, is probably greeting you with those monster handshakes he always had. 
You will be missed and yet always with me. 
That comforts me to think that.

Dan was most importantly an honorable man.  We met in 2002 as I was entering into a career in  Real Estate.  I had gone into the Weichert office on RT 30 as I was looking for a broker.  

I was dresses to the 9's clean as the board of health.  I sat in a chair hoping to speak with someone  and as I sat for 1 h and 15 minutes my blood began to boil as not 1 person, I mean nobody noticed this 6'1 230 lb black man in their office.  I watched more than 20 people walk by me as if I did not exist.  I got up walked to the counter and asked if someone could help me, and you would have thought I was an alien.

I left that office terribly upset as I was driving home west on RT 30 I saw a Coldwell Banker sign and decided to stop in.  That's when I met Dan, I told him of my experience and Dan looked at me and said I wouldn't have to worry about that stuff (racism) with him and I felt his sincerity and knew I found a home!

That was the kind of man Dan was he was going to treat all people with dignity.  I always felt so comfortable whenever I was in his presence.  I will miss our conversations, I will miss his gentle touch, Dan was a great man and now he is the midst of his greatest journey into paradise to be with the father.

God Bless you Dan, I am truly saddened that you are gone but know you are home at last!

To Dan's family I am sorry for your loss it is a big one and I ask the Lord to help you all, in this most difficult time!
