

David will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Betsy; his daughters, Rachel and Anna; his brother, John (Audrey); his sister, Claudia Falvey (Dan); his brothers-in-law, John Sloane (Nancy), Jim, and Tom; and many cherished relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Giacinta ("Polly") Fillippo.
A 1970 graduate of Conestoga High School, David was a lifelong learner whose pursuit of knowledge continued throughout his life. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova University, graduating magna cum laude in 2004. He received the Medallion of Academic Excellence from the College of Professional Studies and was inducted into the honor societies Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Sigma Lambda.
David dedicated 33 years of service to the Tredyffrin-Easttown School District, where he worked in Maintenance. He also served for 10 years as President of the T/E Non-Instructional Group (TENIG), advocating for and supporting his fellow employees.
A faithful member and Elder of Berwyn Bible Chapel for many years, David devoted himself to serving others through ministry and fellowship. He was especially involved in the church's coffeehouse outreach program, "What's Going On Here?", where his warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in people touched many lives.
David had a passion for learning and a wide range of interests. He cared deeply about people and social issues, always seeking ways to make a positive difference. He was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, which brought comfort, laughter, and perspective during both good times and difficult ones.
In recent years, David discovered a love of music and music education. He believed every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of learning music from an early age. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to Music Will or to a charity of your choice.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Alleva Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place afterward at Calvary Cemetery.
David's kindness, curiosity, faith, and dedication to others will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the family, friends, colleagues, and community he served so faithfully throughout his life.
