Devan Eachan Payne Carothers

It is with heavy heart we have to kiss goodbye our beautiful son, Devan, so soon. He was such a unique character with a playful humor and loved to laugh. He was very creative and aspired to pursue film making, fine art photography, German language, and was very knowledgeable in fine art glass. He was looking towards a joint venture in making music in NY with his sister and friends from college. Devan was born in Troy, Pennsylvania and was raised in Chester County Pennsylvania. He was a 2013 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School, Pottstown and attended SUNY Purchase, NY from 2014- 2017. He traveled to Japan in High School and pursued film, ceramics, German studies and enjoyed history. He wanted to revisit Japan and travel extensively, not as a tourist, but to immerse himself and learn the varied beliefs and cultures of the world. Devan had a passionate and loving personality though his life struggles were difficult. He had intense love for his family. His parents, Duff B. Carothers and Joanne Legnini Carothers will miss him dearly. He was best friend to his siblings, Bennett Carothers, Danica Carothers, Celeste Carothers, Will Burdette, Jr. and his niece Luna. His extended family in Savannah, Virginia, Illinois, and Florida fondly remember annual summer vacations and holiday get togethers that we all so fortunately cherish. May it be a comfort to his family and friends to know that Devan’s light shines even brighter now that he is at peace. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
