Doris D. Dougherty, 83, of Wayne, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019 surrounded by her family. Doris was the loving wife of John P. Dougherty for 41 years. Doris was born in Vernfield, PA to the late Norman and Hannah (nee Nyce) Delp. She was a loving wife, mother, Mom-mom, homemaker, and partner in her husband’s business. Doris was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching, spending time with family & grandchildren, and traveling with her husband. Doris always put others before herself. She was strong, resilient, and kind, with unparalleled wit and a sense of humor that was paramount. There was no shortness of laughter when Doris was around. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons: Gary (Betty Ann Lunden) Kratz & Steve (Terry) Kratz; 3 grandchildren: Matthew, Suzanne (Kelly Hoy), and Jennifer Kratz. Also surviving are 2 siblings: David Delp & Dianne (Barry) Heverly along with many nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by a brother: Dale (Arlene) Delp and a grandson: Jason Kratz.
