Eileen (Mickey) Newell 87, of Shannondell in Audubon, formerly of Wayne, PA, passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband James G Newell and two daughters: Eileen Newell Rolek and Diane Newell Overbeck. She is survived by her friend Edward McAleer, son James Newell Jr. (Fredric Mintz, MD), daughters Kathryn Newell (Margret Harbison, MD) and Megan Smith, 6 grandchildren: Jessica Rolek (Scott Saddler), Stephen Rolek (Shilyn Murphy), James Rolek (Sarah Santangelo), Winston Overbeck, Torsten Overbeck, Tilmar Overbeck, and 5 great grandchildren: Lillie Rolek, Briannah Saddler, Skyla Rolek, Stephen Rolek, Scarlett Rolek, all of whom loved her dearly.

Eileen "Mickey" was born in Hartford Ct. to Richard Cotter Buckley and Eileen Casey Buckley and grew up in West Hartford, Conn. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Cotter Buckley Jr., She is survived by her sisters Ann Susan Buckley and Diane Warfel (Dave Warfel). Mickey Attended Manhattanville College where she earned her degree in child psychology. After raising her five children, she put her degree to work at the Devereux Foundation working with mentally and emotionally challenged children and adults. Mickey loved her work and stayed until she was in her 70’s. For fun, Mickey loved to travel and to play golf and was a long time member of Glenhardie Country Club.

Funeral services for Eileen Newell will be held at Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge Park on Saturday October 19 at 3pm, followed by a reception at the Glenhardie Country Club. Memorial donations may be made to the Devereux Foundation (on line: Devereux.org).
