It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Elena Saboe, 83, who concluded her courageous journey with a long and vibrant life on July 19, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Elena brought laughter and wisdom to every room she entered.
She spent over 40 years in a teaching capacity, first as a high school English teacher, and ultimately as a Director of Training at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, but her truest passion was all things Italian: good wine, fine art, and specialties to delight her Italian pallet. She loved 60s folk music, and was an avid reader of contemporary fiction. She also had a seemingly endless, unquenchable intellectual curiosity. Friends will always remember her for her generous heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and courage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elena Prota, as well as her husband, Jon Saboe. She is survived by her daughter, Kirsten Saboe.
Services will be held at Saint Norbert's Church (6 Greenlawn Rd, Paoli, PA 19301) on July 25, 2026. A visitation will begin at 10:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am. The mass will be livestreamed at www.parish.stnorbert.org/livestream/ Please join us as we honor a life well-lived.
