Ellen Louise Wynn, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and devout Catholic, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024. Born on May 30, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA, to Louis and Ellen McGrath, Ellen's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, love for her family, and dedication to her community.
Ellen graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic Girl’s High School in 1959, where she met the love of her life, John J. Wynn Jr. (“Jack”). Their enduring love story spanned 58 wonderful years of marriage.
A resident of Vero Beach, FL, Avalon, NJ, and formerly of Berwyn, PA, Ellen was an active and beloved member of her communities. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and nurturing her spirit. Ellen was a longtime parishioner at St. Norbert Parish in Paoli, PA, Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL, and Maris Stella Church in Avalon, NJ.
Ellen's greatest joy was her family. She devoted herself to raising her sons and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Ellen McGrath, and her beloved son, Christopher. Ellen's memory will forever be treasured by her husband, John J. Wynn Jr. (“Jack”); her sons, John J. Wynn III and Michael J. Wynn; her daughter-in-law, Danielle P. Wynn; and her adored grandchildren, John J. Wynn IV, Lillian Wynn, Beatrice Wynn, and Eleanor Wynn.
Ellen's life was a shining example of grace, generosity, and unwavering faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at St Norbert Church, 50 Leopard Road, Paoli, PA 19301 on July 2, 2024 at 11:00am with a visitation before Mass from 10:00-11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ellen's memory to Little Sisters of the Poor at "Little Sisters of the Poor, 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143 reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
