Estelle F. Mosher, age 98, passed away gently on May 25, 2019 after a brief illness. She had 2 wonderful marriages in her lifetime:
32 years and 2 children with William (Bill) F. Flad until his passing in 1980; 28 years with Carl R. Mosher until his passing in 2013.
Estelle is survived by her two children: her son, William (Bill) F. Flad, Jr. (and his wife Mary) of Decatur, GA, and Estelle's daughter, Elizabeth (Liz) E. Jones (and her husband Patrick) of Devon, PA and by her 2 grandchildren, Jay W. Jones (and his wife Natalie) of Los Angeles, CA and Elliott A. Jones of Devon, PA. She is also survived by a stepson, Dave Mosher (and his wife Pat) and 2 step grandchildren, Jennifer and Meghan, all residing in New York.
Estelle was born on May 3, 1921 in Penn Valley, Pa and she is a High School Graduate. Estelle worked for several years as an accomplished dancer along with her sister, traveling extensively with a well regarded local dance company. She returned home to help raise her two youngest brothers after the early passing of her mother. She also worked in many defense industry positions supporting the war effort (WWII) until her marriage to her first husband. She became a devoted mother and homemaker. Estelle resumed working in her later years for the City of Philadelphia Police as a District administrator for 10 years.
Upon retirement she retired to Holiday, Florida and resided there for 38 years. She was active in her community center and she enjoyed playing cards and teaching and playing Mah Jongg with her many friends and family. Estelle was an accomplished artist and won awards for her work, both in landscapes and portraiture. She also enjoyed music, being an active member with her husband in local organ clubs. Estelle moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Devon. PA in 2018, living within 15 miles of her childhood home.
Over the years, Estelle enjoyed visiting her extended family and traveling throughout the U. S. She was always interested in politics throughout her life and had a keen mind until her passing. Estelle had a love of family and was a great mother and devoted grandmother. Estelle will be remembered as an independent, creative and loving woman, supportive mother and grandmother who lived a long full life as part of the Greatest Generation. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
At Estelle's request there will be a private celebration of life in Florida where she will be interred. Friends and family are encouraged to remember the good times with Estelle over the years and to keep her spirit alive with those memories.
