

Floyd received his education in Philadelphia, PA at Simon Gratz, where he graduated in 1961. He later joined the Air Force in July 2, 1963; after four years he was honorably discharged in 1967. He married Deborah Moore in Philadelphia, PA. To this union two sons were born, Eric Ronell Carter and Keith Ronald Carter. He entered the car sales business in 1974 which became his lifelong legacy, which led to his career in commercial fleet. Floyd became a mentor to many, built relationships and was a “go to” person within the industry. He was nationally known within the GM and Ford fleet communities. He later met Sandra Adams at Century Chevrolet and married in Philadelphia, PA. To this union their daughter was born, Tanesha Carter.
Floyd was known for his love with boating and fishing. You would always see Floyd with his pipe and hear his hearty laugh. He retired in 2019 from Del Chevrolet in Paoli, PA. In retirement, he enjoyed his free time and started to travel with his partner, Patricia Hayes.
Floyd is preceded in death by Clarence Carter and Elishia Carter. He is survived by his siblings, Evangeline Ellzy, Pinkey Carter (Jerome), Maxine Blanding-Green ( Mckinley), Lawrence Blanding (Jackie), his children, Eric Carter, Keith Carter, and Tanesha Carter, Grandchildren, Dayvon Carter, Erykah Carter, Riyad Carter and Egypt Carter, Great-Grandchildren Brielle Carter and Eliyah Carter. He leaves to mourn his partner Patricia Hayes a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, multitude of co-workers and extended friends and family.
