Guilford Anthony Amoroso Sr.

Guilford Anthony “Gil” Amoroso, of Devon, PA passed away peacefully on Monday March 7, 2016. Gil was the husband of the late Bessie (nee Snyder) Amoroso for 58 years. Gil and Bessie owned Wayne Upholstery on Lancaster Ave., where he was well known for his quality work. Gil was a lifelong member of St. Katharine of Siena church and was a member in various positions with the Lions Club of Wayne. After retirement, he & Bessie spent many years traveling around the world and took many road trips throughout the United States to visit friends. Gil was incredibly proud of his family, especially his son Guilford, Jr. He is predeceased by a son: Guilford Jr. (Jean); 5 siblings; Albert, Arthur, Gilda, Emily, Irimina & Adeline. Surviving are 4 grandchildren: Jeanette, Lisa, Viki & Cindy; 1 great-grandson: Grey Anthony as well as 2 siblings: Beatrice Dienno & Mary DiBonaventura. Relatives and friends may call on Thurs. March 10, 2016 from 10-11AM at Saint Katharine of Siena church: 104 S. Aberdeen Ave Wayne, PA. A mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11AM. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norristown, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gil’s honor to: the National Parkinson Foundation: 201 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.
