Halina was born on March 2, 1940 in Ulanow, Poland to Piotr and Maria Nachajski. She completed lyceum and worked as a teacher before meeting her husband, Karol Chmura. They were married on May, 9, 1965 and raised six children together; five devoted sons and one spectacular daughter.
Halina and Karol immigrated to the United States in 1966, initially residing in New York and later moving to Kentucky, Saudi Arabia, Georgia and finally Pennsylvania. Halina enjoyed being a homemaker and devoted mother. Once the children grew older, she worked at several department stores, but her passion was always working with young children and the majority of her career was working as a daycare teacher.
Halina was a devoted member of the St. Norbert Parish in Berwyn. She had many interests including travel, music, cooking, shopping and spending time with friends, but her greatest passion was always her family; especially her grandchildren. She was the heart and home of our family and she will be deeply missed.
Halina is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Karol Chmura, her son, Andrew Chmura, and her brother, Waldemar Nachajski. She is survived by her children Carl (Elizabeth), Robert (Svitlana), Marek (Meghan), Annette (Drew) and Paul. She is also survived by brothers, Andrew and John Nachajski, and thirteen grandchildren.
