Harry A. Campanese Jr.

Harry A Campanese Jr. October 11, 1941 – June 6, 2021 Harry Campanese Jr. (also known as Poppi, Pop as well as other nicknames) was a hard-nosed Italian man who was set in his ways and had no boundaries when it came to sharing what he thought about things. He kept us laughing because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. “Poppisms” as we liked to call them became our own special language and will live on in our memories. Harry enjoyed classic cars, nature, history and collecting (stamps, coins and baseball cards). Harry was an avid late night tv watcher and was the leading authority on all thing sold on infomercials. His love of tinkering with things stayed with him to the end – no remote, phone or electronic device was safe from his mini screwdriver.

Harry was a lifelong resident of Paoli, growing up here and attending Conestoga High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army. He did not speak about his service years until much later in life, but when he did; he was a proud veteran who loved his country.

Harry was employed for many years as a facility manager at National Rolling Mills and ultimately at Maaco Corporation. He made many friends at each place and told great stories of the fun he had while working at both places.

Puzzles, reading and watching Philadelphia Sports were all hobbies he enjoyed but his favorite past time was a quick trip to a casino. He loved the slots, table games and of course the freebies!

Harry was a connoisseur of Oreo cookies ( only the originals – he said why mess with perfection ) and Tasty Kake Krimpets. His love for sweets was only rivaled by the love he had for family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; Harry and Angela Campanese; his brother Joseph and sister Christina. He is happily reunited with his wife Carole who was called home before him as well. Harry is survived by his sister Corine, sons Harry III (Jennifer), Joe (Rhonda) and daughter Trisha (Francis). His nickname Poppi was given to him by his grandchildren, Andrew (Kristen) and Carolyn (Fiancé Kenneth).

Harry was determined even while fighting Parkinson’s to live life the way he wanted on his own terms and he was able to do that up until his last days. He will be missed by family and friends alike.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in Harry’s name.

Harry was My Dear Cousin , Harry's Mom Angela , was my Dads (Raymond )sister . Growing up , Family came First . Sunday Dinners at Grandmom & Grandpops . Then Uncle Gus's and Aunt Laurs house , which was one house over to Harry's house and next door to his Mom Angela and Dad Harry Sr. The back yards where yelling distance , when all of us Cousins 8 or more at times where hanging out . Joey , Harry ,Tina , Toni. My siblings Ray , Phyllis , myself and Mark and many more cousins .
We remember many weekends watching all the Sons , Dads , Brothers and Uncles . The guys would hanging out in the garage working on Race Cars , that competed in the local Speedway . Sadly we loss Joey unexpectedly during a Race at the Speedway . That totally devastated the their Family. It was Heartbreaking . We made many many Memories . The years to come gave us Children of our own . Visits where less frequent as the years pasted , But the next Generations , we made time for a visit as some of us now lived out of State . We would come to visit with my 2 Children , Melissa Michael and our Spouses . Harry and Carol , his son Harry Jr. He had this Huge and colorful Iguana that we've ever seen. We had a awesome visit . Harry always had his door open . We all lost our Grandparents then our Mom's and Dad's but the quality time alway remained . The years became far and few in between . Mostly when a Family member passed . We would gather to Morn and catchup . Harry's was a funfilled teaser and a loving caring Cousin . Harry was a Rock for his Mom when his Dad Harry Sr. passed at an early age , gone way to soon . Harry was as you may call it , "Old School " everybody mattered . He was the Strong one you could always depend on . Its been several years since we visited together . Sadley it was during the Loss of his Mom , Angela . Harry was someone to look up to , his generosity proceeded him . I'll miss you Cuz , your memories live on in Our Hearts .
Your With God and Family Now .

Dear Brother,

You were a great brother.
You stepped up to help Mommy after Daddy passed.
You bought us a stereo, our first car, and many other things.

I have a lot of great memories we shared.
Some are very funny and memorable.

When u and I were both trying to grab the last Butterscotch Krimpet( our favorites, and u had saved it in the bread box for yourself).
I saw it in there and was getting ready to eat it and u caught me and grabbed my hand and smashed it in my face!!

I started to laugh and said, Ha,ha, now I got it! It was like something from an I Love Lucy episode!

When I was visiting from Jan. to March of 2019, we had a good time together.

I had our friends come over for lunch and we had such fun! Marty had us all laughing so hard! Jeff and Fran, Tami, Jett, me, and Mary Jo.

Then a lot of my girlfriends came to visit and you had fun with them! Cheryl. Maryanne, Lyn, Kathy, Bonnie, Debbie, Kim, Gail, Dale, Kimberly, Amanda, and Christa.

You asked me to shave you and you got all dolled up ( cologne and all!).
I got a chuckle out of that!

I'm glad I got spend that time with you.
I will miss you very much.

Say hi to all our loved ones. Until I see you again.

Love you, Har. 😢❤🤗😘
