Helene Young Teter died on June 6, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Roy Dixon Teter. Mrs. Teter was born in Cumberland, MD and was the daughter of Lenore and Arthur Young of Cumberland, MD. She was preceded in death by her sister Ann McKenzie, Father Valentine Young, O.F.M. Cap., Father Francis DeSales Young, O.F.M. Cap and her beloved daughter Mary Lenore, Teter, M.D. She is survived by her sister Mary Lenore (aka Polly) and her husband Caspar R. Taylor of Cumberland, MD, and her brother Paul H. Young and his wife, Irene of Fayetteville, PA. Mrs. Teter is survived by her sons Roy Dixon, Jr. and wife, Anne Bookout of West Chester, PA, David Christopher and wife, Marie of Elverson, PA, Gregory Young and wife Mary of West Chester, PA, Timothy Arthur Andrew and wife, Betty -Anne of Richmond, VA, Christopher Warren and wife, Cath of Spring Grove, PA, Mark Alexander and wife, Susan of Dade City, FL, Nicholas Whitney of Media, PA and wife, Lori Petro, and her daughters Mary Noel Lerner of Tacoma, WA, Jill Teter (aka Mary Helene) of St. Simons Island, GA, DeSales Foster of Media, PA, and Mary Jocelyn (aka Heidi) Lawley of Sierra Vista, AZ. Mrs. Teter is survived by 26 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Mrs. Teter was a Georgetown graduate nurse, founder of the Berwyn chapter of the Red Cross, former director of Rosemont Manor Nursing Home. She was a cellist, an avid gardener, loved to read, was a world traveler, and enjoyed the beach. She was an Associate at Daylesford Abbey in Paoli, PA and a retired choir member. A visitation will be from 1-2pm on Monday June 11th at Daylesford Abbey and a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 pm at Daylesford Abbey. A reception will immediately follow.
