passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 12, 2022 in Exton, Pennsylvania.
Born August 15, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Elizabeth and Charles, Jim was the youngest of three boys to his brothers Jack and Bob. Jim was an active athlete from a young age. At 18, he won the high school cross country championship within the city of Detroit. Following graduation from high school, Jim studied at Wayne State University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Geology.
During his collegiate years, Jim also served in Korea in the US Army shortly after the Korean War. After his service he married the love of his life, Fay Lee, and spent the next 65 years of his life by her side.
Jim and Fay would later relocate to Pennsylvania where he went on to co-found Wire and Cable Specialties, Inc., a company specializing in fishing and jewelry wire production and distribution, in 1976.
He was a true lover of life, a thoughtful, caring and humble gentleman who always woke up happy and truly loved his family. A long-time Flyers and Eagles fan, Jim had a great affinity for the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, hiking, swimming, fishing, bird watching, cruising, playing cards and spending time with his family in West Chester and in vacation homes in the Poconos and later in Florida.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Fay, their three children Doug, Karen and Dan, six grandchildren Tommy, Jimmy, Valerie, Carolyn, Kyla and Brandon, and two great grandchildren.
Jim was a private family man and there will be a small private service in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions be sent to the Dementia Society of America (https://www.dementiasociety.org) and the Audubon Society (https://www.audubon.org)
