John Meyers, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and uncle. Growing up, John was involved with scouting and earned the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout. For the entirety of his career, he was a hard-working Professional Structural Engineer. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and a Masters degree from Drexel University. John was passionate about politics and could often be found canvassing the community for local political leaders. John was a member of the Tredyffrin Township Municipal Authority. He was an avid history buff who never tired of learning more. On the weekends, he and his beloved wife, Sharon, enjoyed hiking around local parks and spending time at the Jersey Shore. In the evenings after work he loved watching his favorite TV show, Seinfeld, completing home improvements, and reading books. Above all else, John’s greatest joy was found in his role as a husband and father.
John is survived by his wife Sharon; daughter Tracey; siblings Kitty, Rod, Keith, and Jill; his mother-in-law Nancy Lentz; brothers-in-laws Andy and Scott, sisters-in-law Donna and Joanne; and nieces and nephews, Scott, Mandy, Andrew, Courtney, Carly, Elizabeth, Alex, and Chris as well as great niece and nephews Ben, Will, Jenson, Nissa, and Henry. John is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Sara Meyers, and father-in-law Robert Lentz.
A celebration of life will be held at Alleva Funeral Home in Paoli, PA on Tuesday, August 16, with visitation beginning at 6:30 pm followed by a time of reflection starting at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Open Land Conservancy at openlandconservancy.org as a way to honor Johns’ passion for nature and his work in local parks.
