passed away on Saturday August 13, 2022 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Those closest to him know that he actually died of a broken heart after his wife Margaret was tragically killed by a hit and run motorcycle driver two years ago. Joe was surrounded by family in his last days and moments and died in the beautiful home that he and Margaret shared for 25 years.
Joe was born in Philadelphia on January 30, 1936. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University, and was the first ever engineering student to be chosen as the university’s valedictorian. He later received an MBA from Harvard Business School, one of his proudest achievements. Joe became a successful CEO for many years. Joe believed he lived the American dream – starting from humble beginnings, and moving up through hard work and perseverance. He was grateful for those who helped him along the way.
Joe married the love of his life, Margaret Bernadette Lynch. They helped each other through graduate school, traveled the world together, and enjoyed, wine, food, friends, and spending time in the home they loved. Joseph and Margaret are survived by one daughter, Jennifer MacDonald, her husband Chip, and two cherished grandchildren, Daniel and Kaitlin. He was proud that his family carried on his love of education, hard work, and travel. Joseph enjoyed boating, sailing, flying planes, music, and politics. But he loved his family the most. Joseph is also survived by his sister Joan Wozniak (Fred) and many nieces and nephews. We will miss him every day, but we are glad that he and Margaret are finally together again where they belong.
