Joyce Maria Baukman, age 80, of Malvern, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. Born on May 12, 1945, in New York City, Joyce was the beloved daughter of Augusta Maria Allen and Davis Gibbs.
Joyce lived a life full of passion, dedication, and care for others. She earned her Master of Arts degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and was also a proud Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Over the years, she wore many hats—working as a nurse, professor of criminal justice, social worker, storyteller, and even a limo driver. No matter what role she took on, Joyce poured her heart into it.
Yet, of all the titles she held, the ones she cherished most were wife, mother, and grandmother. Joyce shared 60 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, Eugene Baukman. Their love story was one of deep devotion and quiet strength—marked by laughter, partnership, and unwavering faith in one another. They were rarely seen apart, and together they built a home filled with joy, faith, and a love that has inspired their family for generations. Eugene was not only her husband but her best friend, her constant companion, and the great love of her life.
She was the devoted mother of Eshall M. Baukman and Elana V. Davis, and the proud grandmother of Ariel J. Davis and Gershon I. Stewart. She is also survived by her dear sister, Barbra Lamar, and her lifelong best friend, Lois Goldman, who became a sister to her in every way that mattered.
Joyce will be remembered for her warmth, her wisdom, and her ability to light up a room with her storytelling. She had a generous spirit, a sharp mind, and a deep love for her family that never wavered. Those who knew her will carry her memory as a source of strength and inspiration.
