Karen Anne Hastings left this world on September 24, 2025 surrounded by family and friends following a brief stay in Paoli Hospital. Karen was the unofficial mayor of countless venues in the Berwyn and Paoli area, where strangers became friends every day of her life. Karen was known for her love of reading, her red lipstick, her impeccable nails, her tremendous listening skills, and her amazing memory. Karen always left a lasting impression by her smiles, her laughter, her sweetness, and her endless kindness to others. You could always tell if Karen was close by, by her unmistakable license plate, BOOKWRM.
Karen came into the world on February 26, 1948, and was the much loved daughter of Jim and Betty Anne Hastings, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of St. Monica School and Villa Maria Academy. She was employed by TV Guide and Worlco in King of Prussia. She was a constant presence in churches and chapels throughout the area. Prayers were offered freely and constantly for friends and family. Karen began every day with two hours of reflective silence and Centering Prayer, followed by a simple breakfast before she hit the road.
