passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Leon was born October 22, 1942. "Huzz" as he was affectionately known as was predeceased by his parents Leon and Julia Huzzard, Grandmother and Grandfather Willis and Sarah Huzzard, Aunts Mary, Wilma and Ruth Huzzard, Uncle Ralph E. Huzzard and Brother Donald Rutledge of Lewes, Delaware.
Huzz was educated in the Owen J. Roberts school district and graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School in 1960. Lee served in the United States Marines from 1960 to 1964 as a Lance Corporal serving in the Philippines, Rangoon, Burma and Singapore. Lee also served on the Guided USS McMorris DE 1036 during the Cuban missile crisis. After high school graduation he attended East Carolina College while stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. He also attended Villanova University's criminal justice program as well as Temple University. Lee graduated from the Philadelphia Police Academy mounted police unit. Lee continued his career working for the State Liquor Control Board Enforcement Division from 1967 to 1969 in Pittsburgh and also attended Robert Morris Junior College. Huzz was a graduate of the F.B.I. Academy SWAT Training in 1975 and was one of the first officers to be with the SWAT/Tactical team in Tredyffrin Township. Huzz retired from the Tredyffrin Township Police Department in 1994 after 30 years of service. After retirement he moved to Bradford County for 6 years. While in Colorado he worked with the Sullivan company and Bradford County Sheriff's' Office. In 2003 when Huzz returned to the mainline he became an employee of the Tredyffrin Easttown School District on their Safety and Security Team at Conestoga High School. Lee is a lifetime member of FOP Lodge 11, Lifetime member of The American Legion and Lifetime member of the Marine Corps League.
Lee is survived by his wife, Maryanne Thompson Lepire, his son, Mark Huzzard (Meghan), his two daughter's Kristin Vandergoes (Chris) and Deirdre Alderfer, and his step-daughter, Jenine Lepire. Along with his 7 grandchildren.
