
Marcia was born and raised in Bucks County, Pa., graduated Grove City College and moved to Glen Burnie, Maryland, to teach. While teaching at Corcoran Junior High she met the love of her life, Warren, and they married in July, 1968.
Marcia moved to Roanoke, Virginia, with her growing family in 1977, where she became a member of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church and active in the Women’s Circle.
At the age of 41, she went back to school and launched a career in nursing at Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she worked the night shift in the ER for over twenty years.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Warren; their three children, Erin Via Leavitt (Mark), Matthew Braden Via (Courtney), and Ethan Andrew Via (Elin); her brother, Harry R. Tomlinson (Ruth); niece, Karen Grover; and nephews, Alex Tomlinson, Joel Tomlinson, and Jason Carr.
The brightest spot in her heart was held by her seven grandchildren, Madeline, Kira, Graham, Peyton, Alison, Cooper, and Ellie.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021, 11 a.m. at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Va. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
