Marie Agnes Barnes

Marie, a fifty year resident of Swarthmore, was born on March 9, 1920 in Philadelphia , to parents Joseph and Marie (nee Mc Fadden) Casey. She graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in 1938 . She worked for the American Casualty Company as a secretary and Notary Public prior to starting her family in 1949. She was an accomplished artist and calligrapher. She qualified for acceptance into the Historical Society of Early American Decoration. She was an outstanding cook and baker.

Marie was very proud of her full Irish heritage, and twice visited Ireland.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Norman James Barnes, her parents and her siblings Eugene, Rita and Monica.

Marie is survived by her children Timothy (Patricia), Lawrence, Paul (Elizabeth) and Claire (David) Robl, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A visitation is scheduled for 9:00 AM at Saint Norbert Catholic Church, Paoli, PA, followed by mass at 10:00 AM. Private Internment will immediately follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetary, Springfield, PA.
