Mary Ann Somers

Mary Ann Somers, 62, passed away on Saturday February 27, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Mary (nee Topper) & Joseph Somers. Mary Ann was a 30+ year teacher of Mathematics in the School District of Haverford Township. She especially enjoyed connecting with her students and helping them learn to love Math as she did. Mary Ann enjoyed traveling and reading a good book. In addition to her degree from Immaculata, Mary Ann received a Masters of Library Science from Villanova University. Surviving is a brother: Michael (Mary Mellon); nieces & nephews: Chris, Julia, Beth & Sarah. Mary Ann will be deeply missed by her friends of many years as well as those recently made, in her travels with her illness. Relatives and friends may call on Sat. March 5, 2016 from 9-10AM at St. Isaac Jogues Church: 50 Walker Rd. Wayne, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10AM. Interment to follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery Springfield, PA.
