Caruso, Mary Ellen age 69, of Wayne Pa. and formerly of Brooklyn NY, on April 12, 2012. Survived by her children, Edward Michael Caruso of Ardmore, Nancy Caruso Clough of Berwyn and Janet Caruso Krause of Phoenixville. Also survived by her loving twin sister Helen Braun Taylor of Staten Island, NY and also her grandchildren, Kathryn Caruso, Caroline Caruso, Ryan Krause, Robert Krause and Andrew Krause.
Mary grew up in Brooklyn New York and Graduated Cum Laude from Fontbonne Hall in 1959. From 1968 until 1972 she was a Champion of three games shows, Concentration, Jeopardy and won a car on Split Second. She moved with her family from New York to Los Angeles and Oakland before settling and establishing new roots in Wayne PA in 1975. After raising 3 children to High School age Mary returned to school and received her Nursing degree from Gwynedd-Mercy College as an OWL, Older Wiser Learner. She later earned her RN and MSN degrees from Eastern University. Mary’s career helping other people spanned over 20 years where she mainly worked within the Infection Control department of local regional Hospitals, specifically Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA.
Mary gave much to her community and was involved in numerous clubs & organizations and spent much of her time enjoying her vast group of friends. She was President of the Newcomers Club long past still being a Newcomer, was a member of the Glenhardie Neighborhood Bridge Club for over 25 years and was the House Mother in a summer beach house in Avalon, named The White House for over 20 years. Mary enjoyed traveling, gourmet cooking, tennis, walking and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was loved by many and had a zest and passion for living life to the fullest. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
