Nancy was the devoted wife of Benjamin Karpowicz, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Together they built a life grounded in family, loyalty, and quiet devotion. Nancy found her greatest purpose and pride in supporting her husband and, most importantly, in being a loving and steadfast mother to her two daughters and cherished grandmother to her three grandchildren, Grady, Emma Cait, and Kyran Holahan. She was a proud mother to her first-born daughter, Kimberly Jill Holahan, and her second daughter, Lisa Beth Karpowicz, who were truly the center of her world.
Nancy also shared a special bond with her son-in-law, Kieran Holahan, Kim’s husband of 24 years, who was more like a son than a son-in-law. Their relationship was one of mutual love, respect, and family devotion.
Nancy had a gentle soul and a deep love for life’s simple joys. She adored Bichon Frises, loved the cheerful beauty of daisies, and felt most at peace by the ocean. Some of her happiest years were spent in her family’s second home in Avalon, New Jersey, where she cherished time at the beach and the calm rhythm of coastal living.
She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her nurturing spirit, and the quiet strength with which she supported those she loved. Nancy’s presence was comforting, her love unconditional, and her legacy lives on through the family she so deeply cherished.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Ben Karpowicz; her daughters, Kimberly Holahan and Lisa Karpowicz; her son-in-law Kieran Holahan; her grandchildren, Grady, Emma Cait and Kyran; and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness and grace.
The family finds solace in knowing that she is finally at peace and reunited with her beloved sister and best friend, Linda Kemmler Cresci.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Nancy’s honor to the Bichon Frise Club of America Charitable Trust (BFCACT), a national, breed-specific rescue dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and placing Bichon Frises in need. The organization operates across the United States with volunteer fosters and relies entirely on donations—support Nancy in honor of her love for the breed and the family’s four Bichons throughout the years.
