Pat was born and raised in Springfield, Pennsylvania, by his parents, Frank and Lena Vassallo (née La Rosa). He graduated from Malvern Prep and attended Villanova University. It was at Villanova that he formed a close-knit group of lifelong friends with whom he shared decades of friendship, laughter, and weekly card games. Pat was known as someone who was always there when needed and who never missed an opportunity to spend time with those he cared about.
Pat began his professional career as an entry-level employee with Gino's, Inc. Through hard work, dedication, and determination, he became the only hourly employee in the company's history to rise to the position of Vice President of Research and Development. Following the sale of Gino's, Pat pursued one of his greatest passions, the Ford Mustang. He co-founded Mid-County Mustang, an automobile restoration business that became well known among Mustang enthusiasts. He successfully operated Mid-County Mustang for more than 25 years. Never one to slow down, Pat continued his involvement in the restoration business through being a successful eBay entrepreneur. He later worked as a driver for Mita Leasing Corporation and Devon Audi.
Pat shared a remarkable love story with his devoted wife, Rosemarie “Ree” (née Owens). Their relationship began while Pat attended Malvern Prep and Ree attended Villa Maria Academy. Together, they shared 62 adventuresome years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Pat is survived by his children, Francis J. Vassallo (Trisha), Regina Villano, and Denise Vassallo; his grandchildren, Andrew Vassallo (Kristen), Carolyn Abod (Kenneth), Nicholas Pilotti, Marc Villano, Owen Villano, and Gianna Pilotti; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Holly Abod, Melanie Abod, and Michael Vassallo. He is also survived by his sisters, Rina Vassallo (Steve) and Grace Katz (Victor), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pat found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. He loved summers at the Jersey Shore, boating in Ocean City, playing cards with the “PALS” poker club, car shows, and going to the movies. An avid cook, Pat was famous for sharing jars of his homemade soups with family and friends. Pat loved a great pizza and his "Pizza Fridays".
Pat was preceded in death by his loyal Italian Greyhound companion, Poco the wonder pup. The two were inseparable. Poco accompanied Pat to work at Mid-County Mustang, a favorite among customers.
Pat will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, laughter, and countless treasured memories.
