Philip was the grandson of Felix and Jennie Garavuso Chiusano and the son of Angelo Michael “Mike” and Mildred “Carmela” Molello Chiusano. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Michael Chiusano and his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Townsend Chiusano.
Philip is survived by his fiancée Marion Mackey, his sister Anita (Ed); his five children, Michael (Carra), Mary Lynne (James), Nancy (Robert), Richard and Elisa (Eric); his ten grandchildren, Christina, Caitlin, Victoria, Alexander, Lynne (Brandon), Taylor (Brendan), Christyn, Maureen, Karl and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lilian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a friendly man with a good sense of humor. In his younger days, he played basketball, baseball and football, later he played baseball for Lehigh University until he decided to focus more on his studies. He went on to join the U.S. Army, Corp. of Engineers, during the Korean Conflict. He was lucky to stay stateside during this time. He graduated with a degree in civil engineering and went on to work with his family building tract homes in New Jersey under the name of Chiusano Bros and later Chiusano, Inc. He and his family also built the family homes they lived in growing up. Philip loved the Jersey shore, especially Avalon, he earned his commercial captains license and loved woodworking, he spent many hours carving beautiful renditions of ducks.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at Alleva Funeral Home, 1724 E. Lancaster Avenue, Paoli, PA 19301. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:30am at St. Monica Church, 63 Main Ave, Berwyn, PA 19312, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Monica Church, Berwyn, PA.
