He was a long-time resident of both Wayne, Pennsylvania and Meredith, NH. Ray was born on July 11, 1940 in North Andover, MA, to parents, Maurice and Yvonne (Boudreau) Lambert. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA in 1958. He continued his education, graduating from Lowell Institute of Technology, now known as UMass Lowell, with a degree in Physics. Ray started working in Massachusetts right after college. One year later, he relocated to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania to establish a career as an Aerospace Engineer, retiring from Lockheed Martin after 38 years.
Ray had a long life filled with many interests and adventures. He enjoyed sharing them with friends and family members. He was an avid skier and enjoyed the sport until about 10 years ago. He loved that his wife, Amy, was enthusiastic about learning how to ski and they enjoyed many wonderful trips together.
It was a dream come true to build a “proper” cottage at Lake Winnipesaukee, now 20 years ago. Dusty, his dog, has been his faithful companion for the past 14 years and loved riding in the boat, too, sharing the beauty of Bear Island on Lake Winnipesaukee. He was passionate about boating and sailing. In 1985, he, along with his dear friend Chris Spencer, survived being shipwrecked by hurricane Kate while sailing from Bermuda to St Martin’s on ship Taxi Dancer. While all five passengers survived, their lives were forever changed.
Ray shared these interests with those he loved and friendships he cherished.
Ray wore a lot of hats, literally, to keep his head warm and shaded, depending on the season. He was known to close friends to go by Pierre when he wore his berets.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Yvonne Lambert and his brother Paul Lambert .
Ray is survived by Amy Young Lambert (wife of 35 years), Jeanette Lambert Peabody (sister), Kathleen Lambert (daughter), Nancy (Lambert) Willey (daughter), Gail (Lambert) Brown (daughter), and grandchildren: Madelynne, Elijah, and Jeremiah Brown and Angelina Willey.
