Robert Max Plaut

Robert M. “Bob” Plaut of Paoli, PA, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Son of the late Bernard and Betty (Jenkins) Plaut, he was born April 30, 1954, in Grosse Pointe, MI, and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy (Vessels) Plaut, his sons, Thomas and Jeffrey, his daughter Lauren (Tyler) Houchins, his grandson, Henry Robert Houchins and his beloved Cairn terrier, Kobe. Bob is also survived by his sisters and brother, Nancy (Greg) Arevigian, Thomas (Elaine) Plaut. Barbara (Chris) Cassedy, and Jennifer (Robert) Hart. His extended family included Dennis (Denise) Vessels, Gary (Carmen) Vessels, and Suzan (Joseph) Swanson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Bob was raised in Detroit and Ridgewood, NJ, graduated from Western Michigan University with a BBA in Finance, and went on to a 34-year career at Siemens Medical Systems, rising to the position of Senior Director Controller.

He was known for his quiet strength, his passion for his family, and his love of fishing, music, drums and travel. He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services for Robert M. Plaut will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025 at St. Norbert's Catholic Church, 6 Greenlawn Road, Paoli, PA, 19301. A memorial gathering will begin at 9:30am with Mass beginning at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the University of Pennsylvania's Frontotemporal Degeneration Center. Donations can be made online or by check made out to the "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania" with "Penn FTD Center" in the memo line.
