

passed away peacefully at his home in Paoli on February 11, 2023. Rudy was the beloved husband to the late Eleanor Stephanie Violante. They were married for 65 years.
Born on July 4, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph and Carmela Violante, Rudy was a 1945 graduate of South Philadelphia High School. He attended the Moore School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering.
Rudy’s career as an electrical engineer was extensive and included assignments with a vast number of industry leaders like Westinghouse, RCA, and Boeing. He also worked for GE’s aerospace program which provided support on numerous space missions, including Apollo 11 in 1969. Rudy additionally had earned his credentials as a licensed professional engineer, and served as an independent consultant for over two decades leading up to his retirement.
There were many sports that Rudy enjoyed, but golf gave him the most all-around fulfillment. Whether he was playing in a competitive league, volunteering as a marshal for local PGA events, or just watching as a spectator, the game of golf gave him a lot of fond memories.
Rudy and Eleanor first met each other in 1956 at a dance in Baltimore, MD. They both very much enjoyed dancing; and were able to revitalize that passion together for many years as ballroom dancers.
Rudy and Eleanor attended Church of the Savior in Wayne PA.
Rudy is survived by his two sons John and David, and grandchildren Michael and Amanda.
He was predeceased by his one sibling, Irene Violante.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Saturday, February 25,
11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Alleva Funeral Home in Paoli. A private internment will immediately follow.
