Tara May Alden-Derr

Tara May Alden-Derr , age 47 , on July 11, 2016. She was the beloved wife of William Scott Derr; the daughter of Patricia (Soeth) and Joseph G. Alden; the stepdaughter of Nicholas Giandonato; sister of Priscilla, Joseph, and Trevor; Aunt of Joseph, Devyn, and Gabriel Alden; Jeffrey Johnson; Alexander, Tyler and Emily Myers.

Tara was kind, loving and artistically creative. Derailed professionally in her late 20’s by health issues, she enrolled at St. Joseph’s University to complete her undergraduate degrees in English and Photography/Film. Tara and Scott enjoyed many trips together, always with cameras in tow- Charleston SC, Ireland Scotland ,Switzerland, Germany, Montreal and Toronto. She constructed a darkroom in the home basement and spent many happy hours there. She loved cooking and seeing her nieces and nephews as often as possible. Health issues returned in Tara’s early 40’s, gradually limiting her mobility and independence.

Tara passed away at home, surrounded by love and her family. She is finally free from illness, pain and suffering.

Relatives and friends are invited to call, Friday, July 15th from6-8 PM at Alleva Funeral Home, 1724 E. Lancaster Ave. Paoli PA 19301 and from 9:00am to 9:45 am on Saturday, July 16 at St. Paul Catholic Church 2007 New Hope St. Norristown PA 19401. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM.

Interment at Calvary Cemetery immediately after mass.
