

She was born to the late William and Jean Nichols, October 2, 1923, in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. Virginia graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1941 and from The Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. She married the late William F. Gledhill in 1944, and they lived together in Upper Darby and Narberth, before moving to King of Prussia in 1956. She lived in King of Prussia for 53 years and spent her remaining years in Elverson, Pa.
Virginia - known to her friends as Ginny or Virge and to her family as Mom, Nanny, More-Nan - worked for a medical practice until she retired in 1990. Ginny was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Gulph Mills. She was a sweet, caring, giving woman who enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, playing bridge, and most of all spending time with her family.
Virginia is survived by three children: Karen Betts, Michael Gledhill, and Meg Ciliberto. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Michelle Betts, Kristin Anthony, Danielle McCartney, Melissa Guziewicz, Matthew Gledhill, Anthony and Andrew Ciliberto and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30am Thursday, December 19th at Trinity Episcopal Church (966 Trinity Lane, King of Prussia). Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects beginning at 10:30am. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her husband Bill at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
