She was born on February 16, 1944 to Robert and Virginia Vopacke in Chicago, IL. Gini was the devoted wife of the late John Miller, with whom she lived in Paramus, NJ, before moving in recent years to Pennsylvania to be closer to her sister Gretchen Reindl, and her nephew, Steven Reindl.
She was an honors graduate of Queens College, and prior to retirement, was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City. Gini was a member of St. Norbert’s Catholic Church.
She had a passion for plants, jewelry, and reading, and loved to share her knowledge and expertise with others. Gini enjoyed eating out (especially at diners) and sharing meals with friends and family. She was extraordinarily generous and helped many family members and friends along the way.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her late husband John, are her parents and younger sister, Deborah Vopacke. Gini is survived by three siblings, Gretchen Reindl, Margaret Reilly, and Robert Vopacke, her niece and nephew, Christine Reindl and Steven Reindl, and several great nieces and nephews.
The family is especially grateful to Steven, who spent the past several years selflessly caring for Gini during her illness and ensuring that she could remain in her home for the duration of her illness, as was her wish. A Catholic mass will be offered in Gini’s honor at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Gini’s honor to Longwood Gardens.
