

Virginia Marie (nee Callahan) Sterling, 93, of Berwyn, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Virginia was the beloved wife of the late Con F. Sterling, Sr. and daughter of Frank and Mary (nee Moran) Callahan of Fort Wayne, IN. Virginia, who was affectionately known as “Ginny” by her friends, was a sports enthusiast who loved to play tennis and could engage anyone in a conversation about the Eagles, 76er’s and Phillies. She was a special mother in so many ways and a perfect sports mom to raise four boys. She was a teacher by education and used her talent to make everyone she met a better person through her unselfish acts of kindness and generosity. She also committed her time to various charitable organizations over the years. Her warm smile and comforting words will always be remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by 4 Children: Mike (Susan), Con (Susan), Stephen (Rosemarie) and Tim (Kira); 8 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 4 siblings: Mary Dohn, Dorothy Heiny, Margaret Higginbotham & Helen Shank.
Relatives and friends may call on Sat. March 9, 2013 from 930-1020AM at Saint Norbert Church: 50 Leopard Rd. Paoli, PA. A Memorial Mass celebrating Virginia’s life will begin at 1030AM. The burial will take place in Fort Wayne, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Virginia’s honor to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are with Alleva Funeral Home, Inc.
