Alan was in my class of "67". I have always remembered him for his humor and caring nature. RIP Alan. Condolences to the families of Alan.

When I first moved to Colorado in 1979 and started working at Storage Technology, Alan and Char were the first to make me feel welcomed and part of the family. They also introduced me to my first Mexican meal one day for lunch at Senior T’s in Louisville. They were both very patient with me and didn’t make fun that I couldn’t handle the hot food. Now it’s my favorite!!
We shared many happy times that I will never forget. Their love and friendship will be a part of me for the rest of my life.
Love you buddy, rest in peace.

I remember the first day I met AJ - he picked me up on a hot June day in 1973, as I was hitchhiking to my new job at Storage Technology Corp. He was driving a green MG and drove me all the way to work in spite of it being out of his way (first indication of what kind of a friend he would be!). We chatted on the way and he ended up joining STC (as it was known at the time), just 30 employee numbers after me - and our lives and careers took off. We didn’t know it at the time, but our future wives were attending Broomfield High School together.
While our careers paralleled, in many respects so did our home lives. We both met our wives at StorageTek, we married and settled into homes in Lafayette, CO. We have many fond memories with AJ and Char, enjoying dinners, Bronco parties, Rocky Hockey and (Eagles) music together. We all took great pride in watching our children grow up, excelling at sports and go off and graduate from college.
AJ left this world far too soon – we will miss him greatly. Charmaine and Shilo, while we are a few hundred miles away, we are always here for you, whenever you need us.

Char & Family,
My deepest condolences to you and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I truly enjoyed the short time I had of taking care of Alan and getting to know the both of you. I hope that I made a difference with him and brought him a few laughs (that damn gum-chewing!)

I want to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. No words can help soothe the loss of AJ. He will be missed. I will always have fond memories of AJ, especially during our younger years when we played basketball together. AJ was always a strong competitor on the basketball floor.
I also have fond memories of hanging out with AJ after basketball games too. AJ sure knew how to have a good time! AJ was always highly respected for his knowledge and contributions at StorageTek through Oracle and was my "go-to" guy whenever I needed support or help in getting something done.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm sad to hear that this has happened Char and family. I will keep you in my prayers and hope you find peace at this difficult time.
I had the pleasure of working with AJ for many years(as well as you Char). He was always very helpful in getting things done the right way.
We would "rib" each other about work, sports(mostly the CU and Nebraska games), and many other things.
The last several years we worked on several projects together. I very much enjoyed that and will remember AJ for the good times we had!
