

Arnold “Drew” Pierson passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family on April 4, 2026. He was born May 5, 1943, to Arthur and Genevieve Pierson. He attended country school at Balsora until he studied at the high school in Arcadia, Nebraska, where he graduated in 1961. He then attended Kearney State Teachers’ College and graduated in 1965.
He taught at Beaver Valley for two years and in McCook for one year before moving to the Omaha area to teach math in Bellevue from 1968 to 1999. In 1969, he married Judy Stine, who became a media specialist at Bellevue Public Schools. They moved to Bellevue in 1970. To this union were born four children: Aaron, Llana (deceased due to Edward’s Syndrome/Trisomy 18), Nathan, and Lanae. After he retired from Bellevue, he taught half time at the Omaha Street School for two years and then did substitute teaching until 2013. He also worked part-time at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary starting in 2000. In addition, he occasionally assisted his son Aaron transporting railroad crews.
In his spare time, Drew lived a life of service and generosity. He was involved with Christian Service Brigade for many years and served as assistant director at Hidden Lake Brigade Camp in eastern Iowa. He was deeply involved at Lighthouse Baptist Church, serving as an elder & Benevolent Fund Treasurer, mailing out bulletins, heading up the annual Souper Bowl of Caring neighborhood food drive, greeting people at the door, arranging various men’s events, collecting gifts for the Omaha Street School, and so much more. He carried on his mother’s tradition of transporting carloads of people to various ministries. He was able to go on several missions trips to Honduras and Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Genevieve Pierson, as well as his sisters, Vivian Ritz & Carolyn Babcock. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy, and children: Aaron (Wendie) Pierson, Nathan Pierson, and Lanae Pierson. He is also survived by his sister, Anita Davis, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation with family will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on April 8, 2026, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 3919 Greene Ave, Bellevue, NE 68147. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
A Graveside Service will take place at a later date at Balsora Cemetery in Arcadia, NE.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Bellevue, NE.
