Bonnie was born April 30th, 1950 in Goodland, Kansas to Walter and Nadyne Stroyek. She lived on a farm in Edson, Kansas with her parents and six younger siblings. She enjoyed participating in 4H and won many ribbons. Bonnie especially enjoyed taking care of the many animals that were on the farm. Her family moved to McCook and later to Gering where she graduated from high school. She attended college and worked several years at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. It was there that she married and had her two children, James and Ann-Janette, whom she adored.
Bonnie moved to Denver with her two small children and worked at King Supers. In 1983, they moved for a short time to Philadelphia, then made a permanent home in Germantown, Maryland. She worked as an Executive Assistant at the Tobacco Testing Institute until she retired in 2005. After her retirement, she moved back to Papillion, Nebraska to be with her parents and siblings.
Bonnie was a wonderful mother and grandmother, working hard to give them everything she could. Her five grandchildren and two great grandchildren were the light of her life. Bonnie also had many long-time friends and an extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins that she was in close contact with. She was her family’s source for knowing what everyone was up to as well as the family's historian. In the last couple of years, she took up painting and enjoyed arts & crafts. Bonnie had a deep admiration for Captain Jack Sparrow from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. She also loved collecting and giving away 'Beanie Babies'. She was a very giving lady with a unique and witty sense of humor. Even with all of her medical problems, Bonnie always had a positive attitude.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Nadyne Stroyek. Survived by her son, James Jackson of Portland and daughter Ann-Jannette Kraus of Reisterstown, Maryland; grandchildren, Courtney, Adrienne, William, Devante, and Justice; great grandchildren Autumn and Shepard; sister Linda (LeRoy) Myers and brothers Michael (Mitzi), Russell (Gena), Steven, Christopher (Donna) and Patrick (Diane).
