Carroll Harry Ervin Schmeling long time resident of Ralston, NE was born in Emmetsburg, IA. He served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952 serving on the U.S.S. Rochester, the U.S.S. Prairie, and the U.S.S. Nereus. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents Harry & Marie Schmeling, four children, Connie, Bonnie, Paul and Paula, wife Elaine (2008), brother Wilferd, sister and brother-in-law Harriet & Dean Meyer & sister-in-law Judy Schmeling. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Brian and Connie Schmeling of Louisville, NE, grandchildren, Allison, Emma, Benjamin, & Nicholas Schmeling, brothers and sisters Alvin (Janet) Schmeling, Lincoln NE, Marilyn Chapman, Denver CO, Dean Schmeling, Fremont NE, Craig (Judy) Schmeling, Laughlin, NV, brother-in-law Ed Behnke, Durant, IA, many nieces and nephews. VISITATION: Monday July 6, 2015 from 2 to 8 at the funeral home. FUNERAL: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 7, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, 4th & Washington, Papillion NE. BURIAL: Wednesday July 8 2015 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Whittemore, Iowa. MEMORIALS: Concordia University, Seward, NE or First Lutheran Church, Papillion, NE
