Born on January 3, 1944, in a small town in Nebraska, Charles grew up in modest circumstances in rural Kansas. From a young age, he understood the value of grit and determination. Those early years shaped a man who would go on to build a remarkable life from humble beginnings.
Charles proudly served his country in the National Guard, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and duty. After his service, he married the love of his life, Carole Ann Richardson. Together, they built a life grounded in commitment, faith, and love.
A man of deep faith, Charles loved the Lord and was dedicated to his church community. His life was guided by his Christian values, and he remained active in his church throughout the years—serving, supporting, and encouraging others in their walk with God. His faith was the cornerstone of his life and a quiet strength in all he did.
He began his career at Prawl Engineering, starting at the bottom and rising through the ranks to become Chief Estimator and eventually Vice President. His tireless work ethic, problem-solving mind, and leadership were recognized and respected by all who worked alongside him.
Never one to rest on his accomplishments, Charles later co-founded G&S Sheetmetal, where he applied his deep industry knowledge and business savvy. For over 18 years, he led the company with integrity, helping it grow into a respected name in the field.
Outside of work, Charles had a deep love for the outdoors—especially camping and fishing—and rarely let a weekend go by without some sort of project. Whether he was building something from scratch or tinkering in his garage, Charles could never sit still. He had a gift for turning ideas into reality with his hands and heart.
Charles will also be fondly remembered for his ornery sense of humor and his love for pulling pranks. He was a true jokester at heart—always ready with a quick-witted remark or a harmless trick to keep those around him smiling and laughing. His playful spirit brought joy to countless family gatherings and left behind stories that will be shared for generations.
He will be remembered not only for his professional achievements and strong faith but also for his warmth, humor, and steadfast spirit. Charles’s life is a testament to what can be built with resilience, purpose, and love.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carole Ann Richardson Graham; his parents, Lawrence Graham and Mary Kathryn Graham (Patterson); his sisters, Ruth Arlene Graham (Barnes), Marylin JoAnn Graham (Bradford); and his brother, Robert LA Wayne Patterson.
He is survived by his sons, Richard Wayne Graham and Douglas Allen Graham; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members, friends, and his cherished church community, all of whom will miss him deeply.
