

Cheryl was born November 7, 1954, in Grand Island, Nebraska to L. Max Charron and Ruby Jeal (Zwiebel). She attended elementary school in Grand Island and later moved to Papillion, Nebraska where she graduated from Papillion High School. After high school she attended UNL. She worked for a bit in Retail as well as at Mutual of Omaha before being united in marriage to 2nd Lieutenant Horace D. Phillips in August 1978. To this union were born Heath Daniel Phillips and Emily Harper Phillips. The family lived in various places with the Air Force, including Japan and Australia. In 1996 Cheryl moved back to Papillion, Nebraska to be closer to family. She went back to work at Mutual of Omaha and then at Wisconsin Physicians Service until retiring in 2018. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoyed reading, watching movies, traveling, spoiling her cats, and spending time with her family. She was an avid baker and loved to make treats for those around her.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her father Max, stepfather Marvin Earl Hahn, her mother Ruby Jean Hahn, and her brother-in-law Ray Aponte.
She is survived by her 2 children Heath and Emily Phillips, her 3 siblings Claudia Aponte, Cynthia (Bill) Jones, and Craig (Kim) Charron, and her 7 nieces and nephews.
