Born and raised in Audubon IA, graduating in 1996 from Audubon High School.
Survived by Dean and Jane (Mountain) Nielsen, Christen (Ken) Auge, and Benjamin Nielsen. Nieces and nephews: Theo, Lucy and Megan Auge, Keegan and Naima Nielsen.
Dean died the day after his 49th birthday on July 12, 2026. Dean was funny and fearless, kind and generous. He loved working outside with his hands, shingling and siding houses and he could fix anything. After losing his vision, Dean worked at Outlook NE for over 8 years, operating a multimillion-dollar machine and loving it! Dean loved playing golf all of his life.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 3-6pm at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary, 441 N. Washington St., Papillion NE., 68046.
Celebration of Life: Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 1-3pm at St. Patrick Parish Center, 102 Market St., Audubon IA, 50025. Light refreshments will be served. Private family burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, N. Arlington St., Audubon IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for later donation.
