Dorothy L. Richards

She was born to the late George & Olga Becker on October 22nd, 1936 in Omaha Nebraska. Dorothy graduated from Papillion High School in 1953.

She married the late Eugene L. Richards in 1956 and lived in Springfield Nebraska until her death. Dorothy is survived by her 4 children Lori (Rick) Runyan, El Dorado Hills, CA, Joni (Joe) Hunt, Omaha, NE, Roland Richards, Pat (Lindy) Richards, Springfield, NE; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandsons; twin brother; 2 sisters. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers & 2 sisters.

As a life time resident of Springfield she served her community from 1973-2000 as City Clerk and from 2006-2010 as Mayor.

Dorothy was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening & loved all the birds who considered her numerous feeders their fine dining of choice. Many people were recipients of her Secret Santa pleasure.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Mortuary. Private burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Springfield Fire Department or Springfield Library.
