Eleanore was born in Springfield, Nebraska, on August 6, 1929. After graduating from Springfield High School, she worked at Richfield Cafe, where she met her husband, Clarence Tex. They were married on August 30, 1947, and raised four children together. As a farm wife, she wore many hats, raising children, tending her large garden, and volunteering at church and in the community. She always had a dessert ready for when company stopped by. She and Sonny enjoyed dancing together, especially to polka music. You never challenged her to a spelling bee unless you wanted to lose. She did the daily crossword and jumble in the newspaper well into her 90s. She always had a word search book ready to pass the time.
Later in life, she enjoyed attending LaVista Senior Center to help serve meals, play chair volleyball, and win at Bingo. In 2018, she moved to Hillcrest Grand Lodge and always wore a smile. She loved being social and not having to leave to do so. She became a master of her iPad and kept up with all her grandkids and great-grandkids through Facebook.
