Maxine Graham (Myers) from Hemingford, NE passed away on March 19, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community Facility in Blair, NE, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Ruth Roberson; three brothers, Harold, Raymond, and Kenny; sister Eileen; husbands Mark Myers and Clifford Graham and son, Tommy Myers. Survived by son, Delton Myers and wife, Christine; granddaughter Kacie Lindeman and husband, Kyle; grandson, Nate Myers; great grandsons Connor and Callen, all of Papillion, NE. Also survived by sister Emilie of North Carolina; step- son, Bobby Graham and wife Pam; step-grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan and Kelli of Castle Rock, CO.
Maxine was born in Valentine, NE and moved to Hemingford. Maxine worked at local Hemingford establishments and most notably, the Heming ford Fire Department through the Aging Office of western Nebraska program where she prepared and served meals to seniors. She also volunteered at the Hemingford Library. Maxine was recently recognized with the PR President’s Call to Duty Award for her numerous volunteer hours through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).
Maxine was a hard worker who enjoyed her family and friends. She was a kind woman who would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She enjoyed cooking and was proud of her baked goods from “Maxine’s Kitchen”.
FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at the Congregational Church in Hemingford on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Burial at the Hemingford Cemetery. Reception immediately following at the Hemingford Fire Hall.
Memorials are suggested to the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department or in care of the family.
