Hugo Henry Wischmann

Hugo Henry Wischmann, age 91, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 28, 2025 in Papillion, NE. He was born January 6, 1934 in Omaha, NE to Hugo & Minnie Caroline (Petersen) Wischmann. Due to the death of his parents, he was raised by his grandparents, Ernest & Mary (Hibbeler) Petersen. He attended school in Papillion. On May 15, 1954 he was united in Marriage with Bette Jeanne Kritenbrink at St. Columbkille’s Church. To this union 2 sons & 2 daughters were born. He was employed by Sass Brothers, Storz Papillion Distributing Company, Moorman Feed Company & United Parcel Services. In 1996 he retired from UPS. Hugo & Bette traveled all over the US & in 2008 went to Europe and visited his cousins in Germany. Hugo was an Army Veteran, serving his country from 1954-1962. In 2018 they moved to Hillcrest Country Estates. He loved model railroading, gardening, woodworking & reading. Hugo could fix anything until the computer age came. Most of all he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Infant son, son-in-law Joseph Todero, brothers-in-law Walter Kassube and Greg Latham. He is survived by wife Bette; children: Laurie & Rick Jones, Jim & Kim Wischmann, Mary Todero & Dana Spaccarotella, all of Papillion. Grandchildren: Gary & Daniel Jones, Sara, Paige & Mackenzie Wischmann & Nina Stanton (Grayson Stanton). Great-granddaughter Elena Martinez. Sisters and brother-in-law Shirley & Bill Williams of Papillion, Marilyn Kassube and Karen Latham of Springfield. Many other loving relatives and friends.

Memorials are suggested to St. Columbkille Catholic Church and for Mass intentions, or Hillcrest Hospice.

A visitation for Hugo will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kahler Dolce Mortuary, 441 North Washington Street, Papillion. A vigil service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St Columbkille Church, 200 E Sixth St, Papillion. Hugo will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Papillion, Nebraska.
